You must be wondering, ‘What does Steve Jobs have to do with the Licensing Expo?”  You know how Google and YouTube populate your feed with things you might be interested in? This morning they sent me a an inspiring speech by Steve Jobs addressing a graduating class. His talk included three stories them impacted his life., about connecting the dots.  Obviously, I listen to inspirational speeches, Ted Talks, Mel Robbins … Tony Robbins, etc., otherwise this video would not have been sent my way. The video was posted by Motivational Ark. It is about starting over which is one of the reasons I wanted to share it.  Covid was tough for us at Marketing Immersion and coming out of it was even tougher.  Being a boutique agency and promoting smaller brands has been extremely competitive.  Unless you came out of Covid with large, legacy and evergreen brands; Disney, Nickelodeon, Marvel, DC, it has been difficult to make deals happen.  We had to pivot…find a way to help our client brands and be more creative than the others. We had to pivot. We tapped into our experience and relationships with and as retailers and merchants and have NOW expanded our service to include retail representation.  Launching a new division is like starting over. For those of us, who feel like coming out of Covid is like starting over, I am posting Steve Job’s speech for you as a thank you for visiting us today with the intention of inspiring all who visit us and work with us.

As Marketing Immersion heads to the Licensing Expo this year, we have opted not to have a booth, nor our our traditional cocktail party and breakfasts, where we showcase our newest properties and talents. This year we will be on the floor promoting our newest division, MINDY.  MINDY is a new retail representative service that offers to present brands and licenses to retailers and assist with in-store and online merchandising. We provide services from nuts to bolts, including presentations to buyers, product and account reviews and the day-to-day technology driven account management.  Some of the collections we have taken to retailers include  Lolli (Target), PSD (Walmart), Emerald Jewelry across all levels of retail.  It can be a challenge to get your products into retailers and even tougher to stay there.
